2016 will be forever known as the year that I fell in love with traveling. October and November were filled with non-stop travels for me and I absolutely loved it (I’m writing to you from my family cruise as I type). One of my travel highlights was my trip to Los Angeles for the IHG Rewards Club member’s event.

If you’re already an IHG Rewards Club member then you know that each one of these exclusive events includes lots of food, some libations, and an overwhelming dose of laughter. Well, that last part just could be me, but I hope you find your laughs too! If you’re unfamiliar it’s not too late to sign up here!

here’s what you should know:

  • You can earn points through the IHG® Rewards Club family of brands: InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.

  • Your points and membership will only expire if your account is inactive for 12 months and you’ll enjoy no blackout dates for Reward Nights.

  • You will also be able to take advantage of late checkout times, FREE internet access, and complimentary newspapers (in select areas).

This event started off with a banging private meet and greet and concert from triple platinum recording artist, Andy Grammar. I have a confession: I had no clue of who Andy Grammar was before this event. But I’m always game for hearing new music. The end result: I’ve download his playlist of songs on Spotify.

Besides being super personal (I know that his drummer’s name is also Ty and he was born in LA but grew up in NYC) he’s quite easy on the eyes.

While we waited for his set we indulged…big time.

We enjoyed sushi, pizza, burgers, themed drinks from a chemist… listen this party was lit!

My biggest regret of the evening was not experiencing the ice cream from Salt & Straw. I kept trying to sneak away from my conversations but I eventually missed that delish boat. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about them so if they are ever in your presence please have an extra scoop for me!

The private concert was the perfect intimate situation. We all sat on couches and just vibed with each other as Andy serenaded us. I wholeheartedly believe that he was singing to me at one point.

This event was one of my favorites because while you were listening to Andy you could not only have ice cream, sushi, burgers but you could also get a one of three really cool tee shirts printed.

OH I almost forgot!

There were big giveaways towards the end of the event. I sat and waited for my name to be called at each one. I joked with my friends because I NEVER win anything so I wasn’t even going to put my name in the pot. But I said fine…this might be my night.

GUESS WHAT!

Wait did I mention that there was bubbles. And all this just for being an IHG Rewards Club member. Listen! I only have plans of staying in ONLY IHG Hotels come 2017!
