Recipe For the Perfect At-Home Spa Day

Go grab your calendar, find a day coming up that is completely empty (or make room for an empty day), and mark that day as “Spa Day.” Remember now that it’s in your calendar, nothing can budge it. Treat it like an important event, because this is important. You are important. You deserve time to yourself, even if it’s just for an hour or so.

Here is the perfect recipe for the ultimate spa day (at home).

1. Facial

Shop this exfoliating clay here!

Remember when the only face masks we had to worry about were for skincare? Treat yourself to a nice face mask or DIY one at home. Try and use a mask that can stay on for a while so you don’t have to worry about removing it mid-relaxing bath.

2. Bubble bath

Shop these bath bombs here!

Fill up your tub with some hot water and toss in a pretty bath bomb or some bubble bath— whichever makes you happiest.

3. Bathtub tray

You can buy this bath tray here!

If you want to relax in the tub for a while, make sure you have a bathtub tray so you can bring some goodies with you to the relaxation party. This is the #1 way to elevate your bath.

4. Glass of wine

You can buy this wine glass here!

If you’re really committed to this relaxing experience, you might as well bring a glass of wine to the tub. Stemless wine glasses are perfect for bath tub sipping.

5. A good book or podcast

You can listen to the podcast here!

Is there a book you’ve had on your nightstand for ages that you have yet to open? Or maybe a podcast that everyone has recommended that you haven’t gotten around to checking out? Well, now is the time. If you really want to lean into the self care mentality here, you can listen to my podcast, Self Care IRL, or treat yourself to a new book— mine!

6. Some chocolate

As a treat! This will make you feel like you’re at a luxury resort. Small details make a big difference. You’ll be tempted to just sprinkle a few across the bathtub tray so it looks super chic, but keep the whole bag close by— be smart!

7. Eucalyptus shower

If you really hate baths, don’t force yourself to take one because you think that’s what self care should look like. It looks like what you want it to look like! If showers are more your thing, make it special by hanging some eucalyptus from the shower head. The steam from the hot water will release the eucalyptus scent, which promotes relaxation. Plus, it just looks so pretty.
