I Went To The Soul Train Awards With Burlington & This Is What I Wore
Thanks to my friends at Burlington I was available to travel to Las Vegas to not only walk the red carpet for the Soul Train Awards but I actually got to attend the live show. The show is airing on November 27th on BET and there’s a really big chance that you’ll see me on your screen so get your phones ready for Snapchat.
If you’re following me on social media than you’ve already been blessed with the inside scoop of my Soul Train Awards weekend. But here’s what you didn’t know.
I was tasked by Burlington to find a red carpet look that showed my SOUL POWER STYLE! So I headed to the flagship store in Union Square and spent hours shopping. Simply put I wanted every cocktail dress or gown that I tried on…especially the gowns with pretty lace necklines or sparkly shimmering accents.
I found lots option that would perfect for a red carpet look. I even found a few blinged-out pieces that are currently on-trend for the holidays. My intention was to grab something that I could not only slay the Soul Train Awards red carpet in but also wear again and make a few grand entrances at one of my many holiday party invites this season.
When I’m shopping fit is obviously a priority but so is the price tag! So I was beyond thrilled to be able to choose from an awesome selection, get brand name dresses, accessories, and shoes all in my budget for this star-studded event—now that’s how I shop!
After putting each dress on two or three times and texting my fiancé for approvals I finally settled on the perfect red carpet look for my Soul Train Awards red carpet debut.
Surprise! I didn’t pick any black dresses. You know I love a good LBD and I really thought one of those black lace gowns would win. But it’s Vegas baby! I wanted my legs free and I wanted to go completely ham on the bling. Mission accomplished with this MYNT 1792 belted dolman tunic.
This look is perfect and so versatile for me. I can dress it up with my favorite leggings and some funky shoes and I’m ready for any party.
