Gratitude Challenge Day 1: Become a noticer.
Today we’re gonna start with the very simple practice of noticing.
Welcome to day 1 of our Gratitude Challenge.
today’s Reflection:
A grateful heart is a heart that NOTICES all the good things that are already present. When you’re grateful you’re constantly seeing all the good that you have in your life.
You’re not constantly frustrated about or focusing on what you don’t have.
You’re not constantly searching for the next big blessing to come your way.
Instead, you’re always searching for the good things that are present in your life. When you notice these things, let’s give thanks for them.
Your favorite delicious meal…
Meditation under a gorgeous sunset…
A random but fulfilling conversation with a complete stranger…
A peaceful walk in the park with someone you love ❤️…
Good friends who make you smile, laugh, and remind you to love…
Leading with gratitude means that you must regularly notice all the good things, big and small, that come into your life.
When you do this, your heart will always be filled with gratefulness.
today’s Action:
Decide today that you are going to notice at least TEN things that you are grateful for.
Try to start noticing things as soon as you wake up. Make an effort to notice something you’re grateful for right now. And then make a mental note of it.
If nothing comes to mind, simply be grateful that you’re alive today. You’ve been given yet another glorious day to live, yet another day to experience wonderful blessings, and yet another day to be filled with joy and love.
Today’s challenge is the beginning of forming a habit of gratitude. So there’s no need to write anything down. But the moment you notice something, give thanks for it.
To help manifest your new habit of gratitude audibly say, “Thank you for [insert thing you’re grateful for].”
By saying it out loud, you’re actively reminding your mental space of the good that has come into your life.
Honestly, you shouldn’t have any trouble noticing ten things to be grateful for today. And if you get to ten before 3pm, go for TWENTY!
The more grateful you are, the happier you’ll be.
Happy noticing and happy gratefulness. Email me a few things that you noticed today.
