I had the honor of speaking in BlogHer’s Winning Women Series Celebrating Black Creators. I spoke alongside Brittany Antoinette and Rhonesha Byng with Nikki Brown hosting. (Fun fact, we all have the same manager… shoutout to Tanisha!!)
We spoke about how the pandemic shifted the content creation industry and dished on the strategies we use for our success, like growing your team, trusting your voice, and how we are investing in our brands. The growing never stops!
I shared my own story of the series of events that led me to realize I needed to hire a manager and an assistant. And one of the biggest pieces of advice I shared was to check in with yourself each quarter and really reflect on your work before you add in any new team members. Frequently, you’ll just get buried in the day to day tasks that you don’t take a step back to look at the bigger picture and realize all of the ways you can grow and flourish.
