3 Distractions That Can Control Your Coronavirus Anxiety

The hysteria and anxiety that the coronavirus has impregnated people with is absolutely insane. I’m not sure our generation has seen anything like this (oh wait, Ebola, SARS, Zika, Swine Flu, Bird Flu… never mind let me stay focused). And as the cases of the novel coronavirus infection, COVID-19, increase across the United States my Facebook feed has become annoying AF.

I don’t blame y’all and I completely understand. Even I have to catch myself sometimes like, “girl, you got good common sense… chill.” And while I know it’s more than just wash your hands (although, wash your hands please) I wanna help you find a little peace in these moments of continuously scrolling through emotions and panics on the Internet.

Find you a quarantine bae

Experts are predicting that a mandatory quarantine similar to what we saw in China and what is currently happening in Europe is bound to happen in order to stop the community spread of the virus (since y’all initially ain’t wanna wash your hands or use washcloths). While you’re out there savagely stocking up on toilet paper and ramen noodles send your “Good Morning beautiful” and “Hey Bighead” texts TODAY so that you can be boo’d TF up when quarantine time comes.

I suspect that 9 months from now we will have a new generation of babies. #RonaAndChill

Binge-listen to your favorite Podcasts

Since we’ve become a culture that does not put our phones down, not even to cross the street, it’s super easy to fixate and obsess about Covid-19 given that the topic pervades headlines and social media. And if you’re currently either the person agitated about the lack of response to the virus or sick of people overly responding to the virus you definitely need to just go ahead and delete the Facebook. It’s the ghetto over there.

Instead here are 4 of my favorite podcasts that you can binge-listen.

Obvi you should already be listening to my sultry voice deliver aha actionable self-care tips but in case you are… behind, lost, or IDK WTF now is the perfect time to binge-listen to my podcast Self Care IRL.

Whenever people ask me if I go to church I tell them I am a bedside Baptist kinda girl. Steven Furtick from Elevation Church is the millennial pastor with a keen ability to give you the word just how Facebook gives you a good meme.

Brush up on how to move from one lane to the next without all the trouble. Switch Pivot Or Quit is one of my favorite podcasts discussing how to change your mind in business. Cause we all do!

This podcast will serve as your bible on navigating friendships. These two besties (also my friends) take you on the journey to becoming a better best friend. Cause some of y’all… trash!

Work on them goals you been putting off

My to-do list is years long. And I’m talking since I was 22 years old long. I definitely got ish I can work. I know for a fact so do you.

Log off Facebook grab your notebook and write that business plan that you’ve been putting off. Delete all of the social media basically and make your dreams come true.

Even though this post was meant to be a little cheeky, be safe, smart and above all the distractions wash your hands, dap it up and until next time… Toodles!
