Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Galaxy Collection (My Honest Opinion)
The Fenty Beauty foundations were released a few months ago and we’ve all been obsessing over them. I was lucky enough to be one of the few beauty girls who find their shade available (Ima pray for all who haven’t experienced it yet). And if you’re following me on Instagram (if not it’s not too late, click here) then you already know that I’ve been rocking the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r foundation nearly every day (I’m wearing 420 in the picture above). Now it looks like Rihanna is releasing new portions of her whole line every few months. Last month the items from her holiday-themed Galaxy collection came out (today she released a red lip paint, gah!).
When the foundations came out I literally sat at my computer until 3 am waiting for the collection to drop. I was not doing that this time already. I was still pressed so I set an alert. When I finally got around to purchasing some items all that was left was the Eclipse 2-In-1 Glitter Release Eyeliner. I wasn’t super siked for the collection until I saw Priscilla Ono, the Global Make-up Artist for Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, on Instagram working her magic with it. It’s literally amazing because it goes on dry and then you smudge to release its glittery delish magic. I was on IG live one day and we all gasped at what the product could do. I thought that since it was magical it would take forever to come off…NOT, one wipe poof! This is like crack.
So then I went on the hunt for the palette
The Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette is sold out online and in most Sephoras BUT I went to a Sephora inside of JCPenney… BINGO! And I was just in time because it was only 4 left.
Product deets:
Confession: I’m not a huge palette fan. I have tons and they usually sit on my vanity as decoration. Most palettes are made of the same few basic colors but not the Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette. Because it’s more of a companion palette, meaning there’s no matte colors for your crease, this is perfect for fancy dates or holiday parties. Or every day if you’re that girl. The palette is filled with glitter therefore it’s messy. It’s moderately pigmented for a palette filled of glitter shades. That being said be prepared to dap and dot and dap and dot and blend and dap and dot several times. Guys, it’s glitter! I made the mistake of not using an eyeshadow base. That might save you a few dabs and dots. But guys, it’s glitter! I would suggest taking it back to your MAC 101 days and do your eyes first and then your foundation. I didn’t and I ended up wiping under my eyes and redoing my foundation and highlight in that area.
BUY OR NAH!
GIRL BUY! It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited for makeup. This collection warms my soul because we’ve been asking for shades that service darker colors and Rihanna answered. So I’m answering her call and supporting. Besides my never ending love for Black women it’s a great palette to have. There’s a few others on the market but dare I say the pigment doesn’t compare.
