How To Combine Your Style & His For Your Wedding Invitations & Save The Dates

2016 was a great year for me. I did my first national campaign with an eye care brand which you can still see in CVS, I did my first commercial with BET, and I got engaged to the love of my life. We spent most of Q4 of 2016 traveling and now that 2017 is here we are deep into wedding planning. With our big day on the horizon, we’re so thankful that Minted came to the rescue for our stationery needs. Who knew ordering invitations was such a task?

Confession: I hate making decisions. Like, low-key (or maybe even high-key) I get mini panic attacks when I have to make decisions. Especially when I have to include him in my decision making. And oh my gosh, please don’t have fifty eleven options for me because I am easily confused and often persuaded to make a different decision. This is what happened to me when we were trying to select our wedding invitations and save the dates.

Minted offers a full wedding suite. Basically in the non-wedding talk, that means you can get all of your stationery from Minted. We’re talking the invitations, the save the dates, the thank you cards, the table numbers, the name cards…the EVERYTHING!

Since we have two completely different personal styles we decided to just order what we needed and not worry about things “matching”. This is a challenge for me because I like all gold everything and if I had my way our wedding would look like a scene from The Wiz. But we are getting married so compromise is key!

Because Minted has so many options we were able to select designs that get to the core of both of our personal styles. I love a good country theme and he’s so very modern (ugh). We both lead with humor and that was very important in telling our love story via our stationery.

We’ve been together for almost two decades (yes girl two!) so our friends are also so very different. We’ve got work friends, family childhood friends and Internet cousin friends. So we went with two different save the dates.

This Save The Date is for our friends

Our friends get to experience our silly love on a daily basis. If you follow me on IG Stories you know that he and I are straight fools 24 hours a day on most days. We wanted a save the date that warned our guests of the obscene amount of fun that is about to happen on 9/16/2017. We both agreed that this one truly expresses us as a couple.

This save the date is for our family

I was so in love with our engagements photos. I didn’t want any of the images to go to waste. So I wanted our second design to speak to my ole country ways and would also shine a light on a few of my fave engagement photos. I know he doesn’t love this one but it’s all about compromise (giggles!).

All gold everything

Please know that he kinda hates gold. But (insert the magic word) with compromise we decided to go with a blue and gold theme for the wedding. I had to have gold foil. I’m not sure if you can really see the detailing on these invitations but trust me when I say that they look and feel like old rich money. Which is something we are praying for in our marriage. #RelationshipGoals

Also know that I am currently twirling my invitations back and forth because they make me really happy. Minted literally has everything to cover our wedding needs from save the dates to invitations to menus, programs decor for the day of, to custom thank you notes and even those corny commemorative wedding items that I cannot get enough of. Who am I!

P.S. Our hashtag is #LetsGreyTogether (I know it’s freaking adorable) so please go on and stalk us on social media!

I will not be mad if you’re a bride and want these same designs.
