[VLOG] My Plus Size Wedding Dress Shopping Experience (Part 2)

When I first started looking at wedding dresses I had all of these awful thoughts (read: misconceptions) in my mind. As a plus-size bride, you hear (and read) tons of horror stories from other women. From the bridal salons not having our size and having to clamp us up and in, to the selection of Old Mother Hubbard style of dresses, it was really easy for me to be frustrated before I even entered the fitting room. But my plus size wedding dress shopping experience has been nothing short of an amazing roller coaster ride that I would totally repeat.

Is there a job where I can just go and try on wedding dresses and drink champagne?

I’d like to have that job.

For my second bridal dress shopping excursion, I took my Baltimore crew with me. They not only gave me lots of opinions but they also gave lots of support (I might have had a crying session). I was able to get a last-minute appointment at Alfred Angeloin Glen Burnie, MD., thanks to my great girlfriend Lisa. She called and said that she was my publicist and I was in town just for the evening and needed desperately to try on gowns. It wasn’t a complete lie, I was in town for one evening.

But I’d definitely recommend Alfred Angelo to any bride, especially the plus-size bride. They had a huge selection of plus size dresses in the styles that I was looking for. Most samples that they had gone up to a size 22. So I didn’t need to be clamped up or in the dress.

Check out this quick video and let me know in the comments which dress you, love!
