The Best Bridal Shower Pictures You’ll Ever See (I am Biased, Obvi!)
This is the face of a really happy bride. My bridal shower was nothing short of amazing and exceptional and incredible and fulfilling and remarkable… I’m out of emotional words but you get it!
My six bridesmaids got together to semi-surprise me. By semi I mean I knew the date of the brunch on Saturday, I gave a guest list but I had no idea where it was or what we would be doing once we got there. For a person who loves to control and plan life, it was a struggle to sit back for a change. But to be honest, I am tired. I have less than thirty days before I marry my best friend and while I am thrilled right down to the core of my soul I don’t wanna plan another damn thing after this. EVER!
So I sat my happy ass down and let my girls plan every little detail.
The weekend started on Friday night with dinner and ratchet rooftop fun at our rented girl’s cave in Canton. In my mind, I was vlogging my way through the weekend to take you guys on the journey but after two video clips I put my camera down and really enjoyed the moment. As a blogger, that’s really hard to do because everything is content for us. And while I want to share my life with you all sometimes I unconsciously put the camera and phone down and just live. So if you didn’t catch it on Snapchat or InstaStories you missed all the good stuff.
But Saturday my closest family and friends gathered at a cute little restaurant in Baltimore called Home Maid. The restaurant was decorated with all of my favorite pics of me and Leéroy. I later learned that the besties and the husbae had been secretly chatting and he actually helped to select the pictures.
Drinks and some of the best chicken and waffles I’ve had in forever filled the room. I was on the verge of tears at every moment. We laughed and we cried and we danced and then repeated everything all over again.
My best friend reluctantly organized the games. She hates corny shower games. Thankfully she didn’t tie all the gift trash to a plate and strap it to my head. The games were a collective of fun “bet you didn’t know this about Ty” type of games. My family and friends have no faith in me and don’t think I can cook or that I am romantic (insert pout!).
The best gift of the day came from my favorite cousins (don’t worry all my cousins are my faves). From the minute I open the gift I cried. It was like the scene in the movie Hitch. Remember when he takes the girl to Ellis Island (or wherever) and she sees her grandfather’s name in the guestbook and she begins to cry like one of those wild animals in the forest. Yea so now that you have the visual, that was me in front of 30 or so friends and family.
It’s a handkerchief with my mother’s face on it and a blue ribbon. I cried. I came home and cried some more. It’s the most beautiful gift I’ve ever received. I’m still unsure if I’ll use it on my wedding day because I don’t wanna get it dirty but gosh, even this picture of me holding it gives me the goosies.
The mood quickly lightened once I opened my Aunt Bernadette’s gift. This little number will be in heavy rotation, obvi. I think it’s too small for my jugs but I don’t think he’ll mind at all. I also got a massager from Brookstone (read: nasty toy), 4 bottles of baby oil and some cough drops. I think we set for our wedding night.
In short, I had the best damn time for my bridal shower weekend. You can see more pictures over on my Facebook page.
