A Brutally Honest Guide For People Who Feel Like They're Faking It

LISTEN TO EP 111: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY

I often struggle with whether or not I deserve to be here because nothing about my success is traditional. Let's be real - I didn't follow the standard playbook. I didn't climb the corporate ladder the way you're "supposed to." I zigzagged my way here, took chances, failed publicly, and somehow still landed on my feet. But that unconventional path? It makes the imposter syndrome hit different.

You know I've confessed to my self-sabotaging ways and I always share some practical ways I maintain my sanity so I figured I'd drop a few gems that have been keeping me afloat. And when I say "keeping me afloat," I mean these are the life jackets that I reach for when I feel like I'm drowning in self-doubt.

Before I jump into these tips, I recognize that my feelings are not factual. This was probably the hardest lesson for me to learn, and honestly? I'm still learning it. Knowing that some of the things I feel are laced with trauma, or lack of empathy, or paranoia has helped me see them for what they are. Just a moment. But not my truth. It's like getting a text that makes your heart drop - that feeling is real, but it doesn't mean the worst-case scenario in your head is actually happening.
