3 Things I Learned About Self-Love From One Boudoir Shoot
In the spirit of love month, I’ve partnered with Cacique Intimates by Lane Bryantto chat a little about self-love… and how horrible I am at practicing it. It’s hard to believe that as a wellpreneur I’m still learning how to love myself. But I think that’s where we all have this whole life thing effed up. It’s truly a journey and I’m not sure the destination is attainable. Because as humans we are forever flawed.
Lane Bryant has some uber-sexy pieces for Valentine’s Day and beyond. #DontSleep because I was so not ready. In theory, I wanted all the thongs and things but my body rolls are mostly shy. But I did select one piece that I knew my husband would adore because the truth is… he has not a single problem with my body, it’s all me guys.
I’m also really lucky to have a photographer for a husband. When I thought about who would take these boudoir pics I was instantly relieved when I realized I had that part figured out.
1. Take up space sis
The first thing this boudoir shoot taught me was that it’s ok to take up the space I need. I find myself shrinking even when I’m by myself because I’ve been told my whole life that I’m too this or too that. A part of practicing self-love means that I acknowledge and embrace that I am too much of a lot of things in a good way.
2. There’s a legitimate synonym for self-love: Aha.
I have aha moments daily. But during my shoot, I looked myself in the mirror and said, “you a bad (insert expletive of your choice)”. Guys, sometimes the aha is that simple. Throughout the day, deliver meaningful aha’s to your mind from your heart and watch your body follow.
3. Give yourself a break sis
I’ve been in the gym for the past 8 months. Committed! Like it’s officially a habit for me. While I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times I’ve always gotten back on and gone even harder. But even through all of that, I look good AF. These miracles I want don’t exist. Plain and simple.
In addition to all of these tips, a sexy fit is bound to boost your self-love so have it. I recommend getting this lace playsuit. I’m impressing my damn self hunny.
