#ExperienceBuick: That Time I Went To Detroit & Almost Froze…But Loved It [PHOTO DIARY]

A few weeks ago, I got a tour of Motor City (aka Detroit) from the King of big cars, Buick! My love for cars goes way back. My first car was gifted to me from my granddaddy. It was a huge four-door silver, Buick Regal. I loved it cause I loved my granddaddy.

My dad retired from the automobile industry so you could say I grew up around cars. As an adult, I could tell you exactly what that weird sound was your car was making and how much it would cost you to get it fixed.

This was my first time in Detroit. And since it was already 20 degrees in New York, I didn’t think much of the cold weather in the D. Boy was that a big mistake.

My blogger besties, Christen is a Motor City native and I was so baffled at the fact that she likes to visit I recorded this video the minute that air hit my chest.

Overall I had an amazing time in Detroit. And the Buick team made sure I saw all that the D had to offer. Once I landed we immediately took a tour of the city on behalf of the Detroit Experience Factory

Our entire crew was cold as…

We headed to The Z Garage which is filled with graffiti. It was kinda the best thing I had ever seen.

TOLD YOU!

We also headed over to visit the College For Creative Studies. This is where many top brands like GM recruit up-and-coming designers to build your next great car! We actually got to see exactly how cars are made. Did you know they are still made from clay?

Sick right!

No trip is complete without a little shopping so we headed to Shinola Detroit.

I have a thing for luxury fashion with no price tags!

Last that night I found my summer getaway car. The 2016 Buick Cascada was unveiled and well…

I’m pretty sure I need to test drive this!

The next day we got up and saw….you guessed it, more cars at the auto show. I really just wanted to drive them all. Well actually, my goal in life is to have a driver. I think he’d look nice in the Buick (LOL).

My journey with Buick isn’t over. I’ll be traveling with them throughout 2015 and I hope you join along for the ride of the #ExperienceBuick program!
