How To Gain 1,000 Followers (At Minimum) In Less Than 5 Minutes!

As a blogger, one of the easiest ways to get more followers on social media is to host a giveaway. I try to do them once a month either here on my blog or on social media. Right now, loop giveaways are so hot on Instagram. And for good reason. It’s a great way to team up with other bloggers to grow your following and reward your readers. I’ve only done one loop giveaway but I gained more than a 1,000 followers in less than five minutes.

But, how does a loop giveaway work? Here’s five easy steps on how you can host your own loop giveaway.

What is a loop giveaway?

An Instagram loop giveaway is when a group of bloggers post a giveaway image at the exact same time and it loops between the group. Each blogger tags the photo with another blogger on the list so that readers can click that tag to get to the next loop giveaway stop. Once the reader has clicked and followed all the bloggers in the loop he/she will be back at the begin of the loop and they have officially entered the giveaway.

1. Decide what you will be giving away and then contact your Instagram friends.

There’s three ways you can organize a loop giveaway. You can decide that it will be a joint giveaway where each blogger pitches in for one big item. Or blogger can giveaway a small item based on a set dollar amount. Or you can get brand(s) to sponsor your loop giveaway.

It’s very important to partner with bloggers who have large followings or followings just as large are yours. But keep the group small. Anything above 8 bloggers will only irritate your reader because of the amount of clicking and following they will have to do.

2. Create a giveaway image

Please Note: This is just an example. How contest has ended.

Picmonkey is by far my favorite. It’s so user-friendly and I suggest paying for the pro account. It’s less than $10 year. What’s most important is making sure your image clearly shows what you are giving away and it states the necessary information like the hashtag, the number of bloggers, and how many winners there will be.

3. Confirm participation and send giveaway details.

Once you’ve selected the bloggers, send a group email to everyone to let them know what time they need to post the giveaway image on Instagram. This is very important because if one person forgets to post the image the loop is off. To make it easier, also send everyone the wording that should be included in their captions. Also include who they are responsible for tagging and who is tagging them. Here’s an example email to send to your blogger boos:

Posting Time:

Everyone needs to post the giveaway image at 7:00 PM EST on 1/01. Make sure you have the correct giveaway text added and that you have tagged your buddy.

Giveaway Text:

This weekend I am teaming up with some of my favorite Instagram friends to give you a chance at winning a $250 Gift Card to XX!

How to enter:

1. Follow me, @XYZ and everyone in this loop.

2. Like this image and comment by tagging a friend who loves to shop at Target.

3. Head over to follow @XYZ, the next person in the loop.

4. Keep following the loop until you get back here and then you’re done!

All entries will be checked and the winner will be announced on 1/15!

Who To Tag:

Your Name                           Your Loop Buddy

@XYZ_1                                @XYZ_3

@XYZ_2                                @XYZ_1

@XYZ _3                               @XYZ_2

Obvi, there will be more than 3 people participating in your loop giveaway, but you get the idea.

4. Launch the LOOP!

Text or email everyone an hour before the loop is set to launch. I emailed an hour before and sent mass texts 15 minutes before. I cannot stress enough that it’s really important that everyone posts the correct information. Once everyone has posted, go through the loop yourself to make sure that it works.

5. Announce the winner.

Using random.org is probably the easiest and most accurate way to select a winner. You can just count through your likes and comments depending on what your rules were and then select a winner. If you wanna be fancy, you can create a winner giveaway image and everyone can post that image at the same time on the day you select a winner with instructions on how they can claim their prize.

And that’s it!

Have you hosted or participated in a loop giveaway before? How successful were you? I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
