You are in control -Malinda Williams

LISTEN HERE: ITUNES | SPOTIFY

This week on the podcast, I am chatting with the lovely Malinda Williams. You know her as an incredible actress and producer, but this week you are going to get to know her a little better. We start off by sharing the colors of our hearts today and then we explore the necessity of grief, the power of healing, and the importance of recognizing our greatness.

Intentional Grieving

Malinda talks about how her first divorce opened her eyes to the fact that the grieving process is so very necessary.

  • “I knew that it if I don’t allow this process to come through, it’s going to somehow fester inside of me and become something unhealthy within me.”

  • In order for an experience like a divorce to be complete, it’s imperative to grieve it.

  • “The issues we don’t deal with in our youth become issues that we can’t deal with as we get older.”

Time for Healing

  • Malinda had to ask herself a lot of hard questions in order to take the steps towards healing.

  • She shares a special moment in her life when her son recognized her hurt and this helped her realize that something needed to change.

  • “I was in a situation that wasn’t a great time in my life that I knew I needed to get out of. And he was just confirmation of like ‘This doesn’t look good on you, this situation. You don’t look happy.’”

Know Your Worth

  • Malinda shares how she felt like nobody ever knew what to do with her and her abilities.

  • “You know what to do with you. So you have to create it. You have to show them what to do with you. And it doesn’t look like what they think it looks like. So that’s where I am now. And first I’ve gotta show myself, because it’s something that I don’t know what that is yet. I haven’t seen it. I’m in the midst of painting it. I’m in the midst of creating it.”

  • She shares how she realized that for a time she was afraid of her own gifts.

Who is Malinda Becoming?

  • “Malinda is becoming Malinda. I am stepping fully into the bigness of who I have always been called to be. I’m 5’2”. Physically, I’m not that big. Spiritually, I am a giant. I know this for certain.”

I am so grateful for this chat with Malinda Williams and hope you are encouraged and inspired by it.
