Quarantine Tips— 10 Things To Do While You’re Bored In The House

LISTEN TO EP 16: ITUNES | SPOTIFY

We are heading into week number “who the hell is still counting” of quarantine and it’s obvious that COVD-19 is out to radically change our lives. This pandemic has been a wildly powerful reminder that we are not alone— everyone is impacted! Since this is a challenge for all of us, I wanted to remind you of a few things you can do to take back your sense of freedom. If we're going to be stuck in the house, we should make the most of it.

10  Things To Do While You’re Bored In The House

1.     Create a healthy and supportive routine. A routine can give us an anchor and a greater sense of control. Be sure to recognize weekends—it's easy for weeks to blur together.

2.     Adopt a fitness routine at the level you are now. It’s not only life-affirming and good for our health, but feeling physically powerful actually helps us feel more empowered.

3.     Learn with non-fiction books. There is so much knowledge to be gained during this time! Do you wish you were better at something? There are books for it.

4.     Learn a new skill. I started deejaying before lockdown and now I’m finding joy in practicing. If there's a skill you want to learn, search for it. The Internet is GOLDEN.

5.     Explore your life vision. Ask yourself, what are those things that if I didn’t do, I’d be disappointed? What do I want to feel? What is my dream for this life? Don't limit yourself or your ideas because you don't believe something is likely to happen.

6.     Be in the moment. In THIS moment, you are okay. You are safe. Take one day, one hour, one breath, at a time.

7.     Start a journal. I have always believed that a good brain dump allows me to hoard good feelings and memories rather than the bad ones.

8.     Help others. I feel so good about life and what’s ahead for us when I am able to help others. It’s empowering as hell. Maybe offer to get groceries for a neighbor.

9.     De-clutter. You know all those little chores you kept avoiding because you didn’t have the time? You’ve got the time now.

10.  Send ‘real’ snail mail letters. Let’s rediscover the lost art of letter-writing. Imagine your recipient's face as they see that hand-written card in their mailbox.

Believe you have the skills and power to tackle this situation and you will! Choose to make the best of a difficult situation and you will find a way.
