Things you can do to improve your relationship with your siblings

LISTEN TO EP 102 NOW: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY

Even though two children in the same household can have very different experiences of childhood, my brother is the only person who will ever understand what it was like to grow up in my parents' house. He's the only one who remembers the bird I had briefly before my mom got rid of it. He is the only one who can also recall the exact songs my mom would play when she was cleaning the house. We have a unique understanding of each other because of these shared experiences.

But like I said, two children in the same household can have very different experiences of childhood or ways of coping with trauma later in life. It is because of the shared experiences that we aim to love each other better, and it is because of these different coping skills and general attitude that we can sometimes struggle to keep the sibling relationship a healthy one. But we've been practicing a lot over the years with varying success and I have some very much in-process wisdom I want to pass along to you.
