*pinch me* I think Apple Podcasts loves me

I got this email and I am absolutely floored. Come. Pinch. Me. Now. For context (if you’re new or just didn’t know because I do a piss poor job at marketing), I have a podcast titled Self Care IRL (catch up here).

It’s just me. Talking about self care stuff. Ya know… anxiety, depression, toxic daddy, up yonder moms - get it, Self Care IRL. The episodes are short and sweet because I CANNOT imagine actually talking to myself for more than 30 minutes. Eventually I would love to add guests and maybe have a video component. More on that later.

But it’s just me.

It’s just me researching, writing show scripts, recording, editing, scheduling, and halfassedly posting to social. Just fkn me. Oh forgive me. I do have an assistant that I cannot afford. So me and her technically. But mostly me cause… I need a billion dollars to survive Earth. UGH!

Last year, someone who followed me (who just so happened to work at Apple Podcasts) reached out and praised our podcast. I was floored when she said the podcast would be featured in their editorial franchise called Spotlight. It highlights creators and podcasters that have unique perspective on the cultural landscape. I mean, floored fren. Absolutely floored.

Fast forward to this year and I’ve been asked to submit graphics to be featured in their Mental Health Month initiatives.

IDK when imposter syndrome will let go of the back of my neck but I know the Universe be fighting back on my behalf. And I love that for me. Whenever I think I’m not doing enough or I’m not where I should be according to some random social posts I’ve consumed, Big G be like AHT AHT. Cut that sht out. And I be listening cause, duh Big G.

Anyways, you know me always got a lesson so here: Cut it out. Stop not believing your hype. And if the hype you are looking for hasn’t arrived, TUH, create it fren.

Also it’s late, close the laptop and go outside and touch some grass.

toodles, ty 👋🏾 🥰 😘
