IDK who needs to hear this but... (part 1)

LISTEN TO EP 85: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY

Mondays are always a moment for me to pause, recalibrate, and reflect on how I can treat myself well this week. Today when I was going through this weekly ritual, I realized that some of the thoughts and reflections I was working through might be helpful for other people to hear.

1. You will always be your oldest friend.

Take care of yourself first. Only then can you take care of others. Never give up on yourself.

2. Life will present endless opportunities for you.

As these opportunities arrive, don’t box yourself in. Stop telling yourself lies born out of societal norms or expectations or opinions. In fact, go ahead and listen to this episode right after this one: The 15 Lies That We Need To Stop Telling Ourselves

3. You will become happier when you realize that nobody belongs to you.

My best friend, my husband, my son, my mother. As much as I feel like they belong to me, they do not. Even though it doesn’t seem like it, realizing this will bring you peace and happiness.

4. Do it scared.

I’ve been very intentional about what type of fear I am releasing. Release the fear of not being enough. Release the fear of success. Release the fear of failure. Release the fear of change. Rejection. Being wrong. Asking for help. Being seen as too much. Being seen as not enough. Being seen. Moving forward. Starting anew.

In fact, pause this episode, grab a journal and pen, and write down 5-10 of your own fears that you are releasing.

5. Accept the help.

The things you want to get done, you need a support system. Ask for help. Accept the help. It will be such a weight off your shoulder. You can’t always be pouring into others without accepting when others want to be pouring into you. And find people who are willing and eager to pour into you.
